dont really set the first day, i wait about two weeks but then it depends on if i'm setting fox traps or coon traps. either way its as many as this old body will let me set. for fox it might be 20 for coon closer to 40. things just dont go as fast as they usta and the days are shorter.

I will set some on our opening weekend, but I am am taking a week off after water opens (end of Nov) and hammer everything I can. I have spots picked where I can run the creeks for mink and coon and hit the land for coyote, fox and cats.. I am going to TRY to keep it in a circle this year back to my house.. We'll see how that works. I am going to shoot for at least 40-50.. Lots of gang sets.. Maybe more..

Well, I don't have a ton of time and will concentrate my efforts on smaller areas. Probably only have maybe 6-8 locations set, but will have them all double set.
And I may or may not set on opening day (10/26) - may wait until two weeks later. I've been really busy and may not be ready.
Or, maybe I'll get my priorities straight and make myself ready. I do have spots all prepared.

I'm shooting for about 200 snares(pre staked) and about 60 to 70 pockets (pre dug) and some rat sets as well. But I rarely have that much energy anymore so I guess we'll see

I don't start land trapping til the last weekend in Oct. I figure on twenty locations and forty-five to fifty-five traps.
Come the first weekend in Nov. I start water trapping and have the week off. I'll probably set 100+ traps but with rats getting flooded out and depending on sign, that may be a high count.
We'll see.

I may get most of the season off but it will be the last half. It's looking pretty good I will find out in another month. Our rig is supposed to be loaded on a ship the first of Jan but won't be in Brazil til 50 days later, I could get all those days off plus the month before it leaves.

I would have been happy with a possum!!!!!!!!!! It was bad on Sunday morning.. Water everywhere... Even the sets up high!! I still enjoyed it though.. Put out 3 K9 sets in the backyard and a cage for coons.. It was handy and I kept it simple. Can of sardines and salmon oil..
