What are you trying to say Scansy. That she dont get out much ! LOL Wait till she reads your replies my friend. I soon will be KING and Moderator here ! Just that if she traps in her kitchen, she can't catch a fox. But if she tried outside there in WV..... well, she probably still wouldn't catch a fox. Not that I have much room to talk this year.

Had to check early today and pull traps since we are leaving around lunch time. Almost pulled yesterday so I could sleep in today. Glad I didn't. Picture was taken with a maglite and my phone "flash" which isn't much of a flash.

Here's coon #3 from today. He was in a previous catch circle. Dang things tear up a spot a whole lot more than fox do.

I know what your talking about the coons and the catch circle. It seems like they have more attitude then fox or coyote do also...

Last two nights I got two "furbearers" - cats. Same set both times. I think I found myself a cat highway. The one today must've been carrying his dinner when he went past my set - dropped the mouse and went to the trap. Mouse was laying there this morning - just out of his reach.

AAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhh.................................
The elusive "felix domesticus"
They make good fox bait, if they aint' wearin' a collar.

Neither had a collar on. One looked pretty healthy, and I was less than a 1/4 mile from some homes. The other one today was scrawny, one eye swollen shut, it was a real mess.

Our county doesn't have an animal control officer or a pound, so we get a BUNCH of dump-offs/strays/call them whatever you want to. Owners collar their pets around here to differentiate from all the strays.

Sunny, I don't doubt your ability to catch coon. And of course your ability to catch possum is legendary.

we arent gonna advocate using domestic animals for bait on here, now are we?? we also arent gonna be dumb enough to post that we dispatch domestics. GOT IT?

Just to be clear, I released both of the cats unharmed. This guy, from this morning, wasn't so lucky though.

who decides which are domestics and which are feral? you can not, without a doubt tell them apart. very few people collar their cats.maybe they should but they dont and if youre making judgements to kill so called feral cats, you could very well be killin someones pet.
some people wold call them all feral that dont like cats just for an excuse to kill them.

Sunny's right. The number of people who collar a cat is not 100% probably closer to 50%.
I know a guy in a rural area who has an old garage that he keeps open. It's home to probably 15-20 cats. None of them are collared, declawed, fixed, etc. They are all "wild", but he also puts out food for them. They come and go as the please. They never see a vet. Are they domestic or feral?
If I had a cat that was caught miles from the nearest home, I would accept it was feral. Here where I live, it's tough to get more than a half mile from a home. I assume that all cats and dogs are domestic.
