id be afraid when it was tanned the hair would fall out along the hairline if i was a buyer.

Sam sells kits on "E-Bay" 1 pair tweezers, 1 magnifying glass, and 1 packet of black pepper.
Back to the topic more or less, I would think that a bruised spot, large bloody spot in the hide would cause hair slippage more so than a mark from a snare, and that would be why we have always been told to set coni's so the dog strikes on the belly side of a critter, because damage there is no big deal as the belly is usually trimmed off when they use the pelt. I could be wrong and it wouldn't be the first time nor the last neither! ;D
