There's Morton's sugar cure, and Morton's tender quick. Two different products. The market here still has both products, or did the last time I looked. The sugar cure looks like brown sugar, the tender quick is a white looking powder. The sugar cure comes in a big blue morton's bag, looks about the size of a 5 lb. sugar bag. The tender quick comes in a bag about 1/4 the size.

Yep.
Witscheys market in Middlebourne has, or at least did have it. I haven't looked for it for a spell. If you need it, and can't get it, I know the manager of the store real well. I can see if he still can get it. He special orders stuff like that for folks all the time. Lemme know.

I called Witscheys and checked. They have both in stock. $ 5.99 and $ 10.99 per bag. I think $ 5.99 for the tender quick, and $ 10.99 for the sugar cure. Witscheys in New Martinsville probably still stocks it, as well.

If you need some at the New Martinsville store, and they don't have it, they'll bring it from the Middlebourne store to New Martinsville for you, if you call ahead a day or so. ;D

You ever try rubbing it in the night before, and letting them sit in the fridge overnight to let the cure work it's way into the meat? The longer it stays on the meat, the better it works. ;D
