Im happy for you. ill still put em up for1.50 if i catch em this year. it all adds up. i was actually kinda happy with that cause its the first time ive ev er put up a skunk so im sure i have plenty of room for improvement.
I only had 3 so they bought me a gallon of gas. ;D

I averaged 4.50 for the ones i sold in the country, and at the VTA sale. they are a piece of cake to put up, and when you factor in the essence, they are worth more than maink and more plentiful also. I guess some of the country buyers that shipped took a loss on the skunks it sounds like.

i know if they paid 4.50 and averaged less than that, theyre up a crick without a paddle. factor in the faltering gray fox prices and the coyote market and i can say im glad i aint a buyer. and im glad i caught some coon ;D

Did not measure any. Just put up all that we caught. All were incedental catches.
they are as easy as a coon to put up. Most are bodygrip caught, or dispatched with a little acetone and an injection pole. No smell.
using the "perfume" for my own lures and will be rendering the fat from fleshing for lure as well. Will be keeping the carcasses from them this fall for K9, cats, and the fisher and the marten.
As far as I can tell a skunk is sort of like a beaver. You can use all of it!!!!!!! win/win for the whole trapping picture.

I was recently told there was a market for the fat also. Looks like i will be saving that too. The fat is very clean looking...wonder how it would do to use in place of Crisco?
