Just what should good quality fox or yote urine look like, and how much amonia smell should it have?

IMO good quality urine should be dark, coffee colored and have a strong foxy smell - some ammonia smell should be expected when the container is first opened, but shouldn't be used as a gauge of quality.
Best advice I can give is find someone who has/sells the good stuff, and smell it - then use it as a benchmark for others.
If one were to walk around a convention and sniff test all the different urines for sale, it would become obvious that differences do exist.

I would say catch1 is spot on. The one thing urine should not be and that's smell like sewer.
