A glaze of maple syrup is good on ham too for a quick glaze before baking. Friend of mine swears by a can of Coke or root beer poured over it and basting the ham every 5-10 minutes with the soda and drippings. At the cabins on the river we slice it thick about 1/2" and spit it just like hot dogs over the fire, dropped on a hot biscuit with egg and cheese is awesome. The smoke/fire really bring out the flavor. I'll fix a batch of them up about 6am before the boys roll out to run the lines. Washed down with some ice cold Diet Dew or/mixed with frozen concentrate orange juice=awesome!
