Does your state require a special permit for snaring?
Here in PA, we have to take a specific course for snaring to get a permit.

Today it comes with your trapping course. If you have a old trapping license (1984 back) and hav'nt taken the trapping test since then. You nead to take the trapping course over again.To be legle to snare. But you can use all other legal types of traps

we dont have to have them here. we have the same check law on them as for our traps. every day

No special permit but we have 2 zones and the farmland zone doesn't open until December 1st.

just can't set em' in a fence w/in 50' of a road

no permit here but the loop can't be more than 12 inches big and the top of the snare can't be more than 12 inches off the ground. So were pretty much stuck mainly crawl-unders.
