Good luck, keep us posted, Tomorrow you should set another yote trap out close to your first They travel in pairs or small groups, especially if you have this years pups that have not yet dispersed. Good possiblilty on doubles this early. If you made a dirt hole set make a urine post set near by, like 10 to 20 feet apart. And use red fox or bobcat urine if you have it, Them big dogs hate little dogs and kitties

depending on the tempature when a animal cant get out of the water the actually dont drown, they go under from hypertemia. i'v had them sitting in the middle of the creek (coon) tangled on a little stub just sitting there shivering and not to peppy.

Yep. He pegged it. Hypothermia gets a lot of them for us.

Blake....i aint no cat trapper....but ahve caught afew.
With the cat traps that size cover them VERY lightly. Cats aren't real trap shy really and the lighter the cover over a trap the faster and better off ya are. Also make sure ya have 2-4 lbs. of tension so they are really committed when steppin on the pan.
I make my sets for them like a fox set. Trap right up to the hole. At dirt holes.
Walk throughs work well for them too. They are very "edge" oriented to. (specially along rocky bluffs) Anywhere there is a place that juts out on an edge....make a walk through set there.
Hope that works for ya. best of Luck

IMO if you don't fence them in you will get a lot of this. Blake make the set so the cat has only one place to step and that's on your pan. Like Huck walk throughs work very good for cats!
