That was a direct cut/paste from WVTA website. Dunno?? You gonna have a table or two? I was in such a rush last year to get in and out I didn't get a chance to chat with anybody. Jan at the WVTA should be able to answer your quesion.

B.R.T. no one was kind enough to let me know about my demo. time last year probably some of your friends. As far as me doing a demo in West Virginia. I think thats a good thing the West Virginia trappers want to learn my way of fox trapping and I can help them become a better fox tapper. Just like I showed you how to trap foxes 2 year ago. I have made a living off of fox trapping for over 25 year and have caught 1000s of foxes. When you are able to catch foxes like me maybe someone will ask you to do a demo. But we both know that you will never get to my level as a fox trapper but you can come and watch me do my demo in Virginia or West Virginia Scott Dean

Me and everyone else knows that you're a great fox trapper. Will I ever become a better fox trapper than you? Probably not, but how many cats did you take last year? How many otter and beaver? I might not be nothing but a drop in the bucket to some of ya'll but I hold my own for the most part. Thanks for everything that you did for me...you helped me alot with the fox. You rubbed me wrong when you were doing demos for other states but couldn't cover the one you were scheduled for in VA...If you weren't notified of it, you couldn't have known. I retract any statements I made about that subject. One last thing...as far as numbers go I would be glad to put you in touch with the buyer I sold to along with my NAFA numbers...Also could share a few pictures of things that I gave away or had tanned...I'm no longer that "kid" chasing his tail killing 30 fox and a dozen coons a year...Some of the thanks does go to you, but there were others that had a hand in shaping my trapping techiques. Again, I retract my statements about you not showing up, I wasn't responsible for notifying you of your demo so I can't say much about it...See you in Luray...or on the trapline

how is this for a rainy weeks catch in FebruaryIf Scott Dean had his way, you wouldn't make catches like that in February Pskinny. He proposed at a VDGIF meeting that the fox season be closed by mid-January.

Also seems strange Scott that you would be scheduled to do a demo and no one told you. Did you know you were to do a demo?
Seems like the schedule was posted around the web - did you not see it?

If I was going to that convention I would make sure I had something beter to do than watch that demo.

Nope. That doesn't mean he isn't good, but there's more to being good than putting up numbers and getting pats on the back.
If I didn't think it was unethical I would cut and paste his remark and put it on T Man's thread about Good versus Great trappers. with a remark that being pompous decreases your chance at being great, in my opinion. I'll bet there are several younger people that can put up numbers equal to his. I have faith that Redneck Cowboy is on his way to that league!

2-3 years ago, he was tresurer at the time. Meeting between vta and vdgif - Willie Ernestes, Dennis Smith and Winston Marshall put him in his place.
Problem is he went to that meeting as a vta rep, and thing sprung that crap! Wasnt a vta opinion, just his.
Ego is one thing he isn't short of, but reality is his numbers are attainable by anyone with hard work.

Lauren Mastro is not the person who was originally supposed to do the demo shes now scheduled for.
she apparently knows her stuff but shes a fill in for the guy who was suppposed to give the demo, so ive been told.
