Figured I'd put this us here and it might be some help to some people maybe? Tool's you'll need. - Metal Cutting Saw of some kind. - 20 inches of 1inch metal pipe. - Angle grinder - Safety glasses - Tape measure - Marking pen/pencil (Please your common sense when using some of these tools and don't be careless) Go ahead and mark 20 inches on your pipe You now have two options you can cut it at a 45 degree or so angle or cut it in 1/2 with 2 cuts, a high one and low on and then connect to severe(sp) it, like shown below. (BE CAREFULL!!) Now that you have your pipe it's time to make it to a point on the end so it'll go into that hard/rocky/frozen ground easier. Here's how it should come out. Now it's time to cut the side hole so you are able to clean out the pipe easier. Make the 1st mark 3 inches up and go to the 7 inch mark and mark your other end. Now make it about 3/4 inch wide, after cutting it'll be about 1 inch wide. After you grind out the notch/hole grind off the sharp edges you created at the hole and you now have a finished dirthole punch. note: be easy and take your time with the grinding so you dont heat up the metal and possibly weaken it. ...And you get a perfect dirthole everytime... May not be the prettiest but it does what it's suppossed to and didn't cost me a penny Hopefully that might be of some help, and remember be S A F E! , Luke.
