I have been working on my getting my trap line layed out. It is still 3 weeks until I can start setting traps. Thought I'd share some pictures of different stuff. ;D The first two are of my rides on the line. Here are a couple of the coon sets I have been pre-baiting.

A couple tiles that will have snares. The first is a very large tile that I have a limb set infront of where the coon have been leaving their piles of scat. They will have to pass under the stick and between the rocks to get to the scat piles. The small tile looks line they have been climbing in so it will get a snare. Hope you like the pictures. Steve

How does that setup with the hole in the plywood work for you?

I have never tried it before. I read about it somewhere on one of the forum boards.
I can say that the pre-baiting has been starting to work. I use the coon were just taking the bait I laid on the board. The last time they reached down and got the bait in the hole.
I just baited them yesterday so I will check them today.
This is going to be a long three weeks.

Your season doesn't start for three weeks? Ours starts on Saturday. But I'm holding off for a week. Talking with the local buyer, the coon need another week and the fox need two more.

Well then 3 weeks should be good. I am in NW OHIO. I put out 5 more of those plywood sets. I am using those because there may be some family dogs in the area. I think I will use sardiens or tuna as bait when I set the traps. Right now I just dig the hole so a 1 1/2 long spring will fit under the wood. I will place the trap when season is in. Been putting some bait and lure to get the coon use to reaching in and getting some sweets. Steve
