# 2 Bridger with a PIT pan makes a heck of a cat trap. 1.65 will work-#2 sized trap/PIT pan is just my personal preference. Little more jawspread/bigger pan is a personal preference.

i asked jerry for you. he said a 1.65 will work for the cats down south. there paws are a little smaller. hes trapped cats here, down south and in several states west of the Mississippi. he said t tell ya the good thing about 1.65 is that theyll work for greys too and youll probably be catching some of those as well in Ga. he personally thinks the 2 will work for cats but its a little big for greys. if he were you in your area targetting cats hed go with the 1.65 over the #2. just relaying the message.

For what it's worth.......the 1.65 will be fine for southern cats.......however if you are buying new traps I would go larger then the 2's for yotes down there. I have used the #2 bridgers for years for the yotes here and have learned a #3 is a much better trap for them.

I just bought a half dozen 1.65s that are 4 coiled. I'm hoping they'll hold anything that gets in them. I've caught cats and yotes both around here on regular 1.5s so I figure strength won't be an issue.

Great minds think a like. ;D I have a few 1.75 northwoods that I rigged up just for greys and cats. I put a bigger pan them and #2 music wire springs. I've caught coyotes in them too. My brother has caught a few cats in 1 1/2 rubber jaw victors so I know the 1.65 will catch them.
