i changed the way i bed traps from watching a Matt Jones video. before i would pack all around the trap being sure not to leave any spot unpacked. well this took a long time and if the trap was still wobbly i had to redo it all over again. after seeing Matt's video the light came on and i started doing like he does. he just packs the opposite corners real hard with dirt, test it and cover with peat. wow i couldn't believe it was that easy til i tried it. it probably cut 2 to 3 minutes time per set for me.
i have only used it on the short line i set in DEC (only 2 doz) but didn't have the first trap dug and i have a lot of greys and coon. it' the only way to go for me.

I don't do much land trapping anymore but I use the power bedding style that Jim Cunduff used in his book. Fast and pretty easy too, never had a loose or wobbly trap that way. It used to take me forever to get a solid bed until I tried it.
