no way no how far as im concerned and even if they become legal by the law of the land...they aint "legal" in Gods eyes.
how can anyone support 2 men or 2 women being "married"?
"marriage" is defined as a legal union between a man and a woman..not a man and a man or a woman and a woman.
any thoughts?

I am all for it. Why shouldn't they be as miserable as the rest of us?
Just kidding. I agree, marriage is one man and one woman.
I don't walk around and tell people I prefer the opposite sex, and I don't think they need to announce their sexuality at every opportunity. Gay pride and gay parades and gay festivals are unacceptable, and especially if they use public property that is paid for with tax dollars for these festivals and parades.

States can do what they want, but these marriages do not entitle gays to federal benefits yet. Adam cannot file for Steve's social security benefit when he dies. I don't know that one dude can take another dudes name on his social security card either. I have a gay sister and I've told her I support civil unions but not marriage. I think you should be able to give your crap to whoever you wish when you die, but calling it marriage is not right. Being eligible for couples rates for health benefits doesn't bother me either.
Having a heterosexual parade would be accepted like a whites only college, but the opposite is just fine. Makes no sense to me either.

It's morally and ethically wrong for two men to marry, now two women, totally different story!!! JK, its just not right for either gender, totally against my upbringing, and agree with Sunny that God definately does'nt approve

Since the republicans have taken over congress, here in MN we have an amendment on the ballot in 2012 stating that marriage is between a man and woman. The democrats are saying this is just a detraction by the republicans to get away from dealing with the budget woes we have. They also say we already have a law on the books that says only a man and woman can marry in MN. The republicans want to cement that law by making it a constitutional amendment.
A friend of mine who is a republican representative in the state has said the real reason for bringing this up is that since the legislature has been controlled by the democrats for the past 40 years, it has been impossible to bring this issue to the voters, the democrats always prevented it in the past. Everyone knows most democrats support gay marriage and they don't like issues to be voted on or decided by the voters.
The other reason is that national challenges by gays against DOMA and with the two recent ultra-liberal appointees on the Supreme Court by Obama, DOMA could quickly become invalid.

haus, I'd be curious to know where you found the quote supposedly spoken by Bush about low voter turnout? According to Snopes.com if you look at Dan Quayle Quotes, they list that identical, word for word quote as one that liberal writers imagined that could have been said by Quayle, though it never was.
Bush never said anything regarding low voter turnout at the polls according to Snopes, but rather it was attributed to Dan Quayle, but was never actually spoken by either.

That quote was also attributed to John Kerry as well as Bush once according to Snopes. Both are false according to the liberal Snopes site. According to them the quote was only made by Quayle. Logic would indicate that it would be highly unusual for three people to make the same word for word, identical quote.
Just so you know your quote is in error.

A liberal lie about a Republican? Say it isn't so!
Typical, though, even when they know it is a lie they keep repeating it thinking that if enough people believe it it will become the truth. That's the world they live in.

How will or would 2 men or 2 women being married really affect you?
Love is truly blind right? Myself I dont care if 2 people of the same gender get married. I am married to a wonderful gall for almost 20 years now.
Why can we all not just get along? If it doesnt harm you than why worry about it. By harm I am not meaning religously, but finacially, work wise, home buying, hunting, trapping, fishing, driving a car, or walking down a a wooded tail.
I have a few friends that are gay, both male and female, they are really not that different than you or I. They just want to be happy in life.
