have any of ya'll done that before? im getting plenty of squash and am gonna freeze some of it for frying this winter.
i slice them linngthwise, blanche them for 2 minutes, coll then freeze.
do any of you guys freeze squash any other way?
i also grate and freeze zuchini for bread in the winter.

We wash it then chop it into stir fry pieces and freeze in Ziploc bags. MIL does some up for bread etc by grinding and freezing but I prefer it in stir frys or breaded and fried.

I love squash, but my wife won't eat it. I grow enough for myself and store it in a cool, dry place. I eat about one a week until they're all gone. I prefer Buttercup, but will eat acorn too. The others I don't like.

Buttercup squash looks kind of like a large oak tree's acorn. Though acorn squash doesn't look like an acorn. Buttercup is great with a dab of butter, honey, and brown sugar, in the spot where the seeds were. Then nuked in a microwave or baked. To die for!!!!!

we got acorn squash here..theyre green with deep ridges.
i think we're talking bout the same thing.. maybe? cause thats how i cook them. theyre really good if you dribble some maple syrup on em when youre baking em too.
