AARP is dangerously out of step with America. First, they supported weakening the 2nd Amendment. Then, they were silent on illegal immigration, on the Ground Zero Mosque, on increasing taxes, and on high gas prices at the pump. They claim to be the salvation for seniors! Nothing could be farther from the truth! They pushed the passage of Obamacare knowing that the cuts to medicare would force seniors to have to spend billions to make up for those cuts by purchasing higher cost Medicare Supplements. They just happen to sell the coverages seniors would be forced to purchase. They would add billions to their coffers once Obamacare was put into motion. Looking out for seniors? What a joke!

It's hard to believe and I grew up loving his show, but ole Andy is a hardcore liberal democrat. He ran in ads supporting Obama constantly. Although, in his show he exhibited good common sense and family values, in reality he's lacking.

I know we discussed AARP once before but I can't find it when searching. But back to your post. Yes they are a huge business that is out to make money for themselves. If your a people watcher check out seniors. At some point I have seen a tendency for them to become stuck. They wear the same thing, eat at the same places, stick with the same church, shop at the same store, etc... That is the reason AARP does so good. They believe AARP is good and that is that, no further research is done. Same way politicians can die in office. The old people who always vote, always vote for the same candidate. Yes there are exceptions, but I've seen this far too much to not be a trend. Polyester pants come to mind ;D;D My deceased grandpas big smith bibs also come to mind.

LOL, thats funny. Actually brought back something grandpa told me. Never switch banks. He lived in Michigan most of his life, but even when he moved to New Mexico they kept the same bank. Must say I've had the same primary account since I opened my first account, but have accounts with a couple others. Guess I listened to Grandpa, LOL.

Most senior citizens are thoroughly indoctrinated into believing the Republicans only care about the rich guys and the Democrats are the only party that will stand up for them.

Very true what all you guys are saying. Strom Thurmond comes to mind about keeping someone in office far too long. I heard the last few terms in Congress, he spent more time sleeping than anything. It's that old adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." My dad is that way. He's a Catholic. He got real upset when the church went from Latin (which he never understood a word of) to English. He only drives Buicks and will only buy from the same dealer. I tell him he needs to shop around before he just buys. But, my advice falls on deaf ears. He really believes AARP's main concern is protecting seniors. And yes, he is a full blown democrat still living in the days of FDR. He's always voted democrat and will never change because he tells me republicans have never done anything for the working man. He is opposed to abortion, gun control, gays in the military, illegal immigration, immigration of rag heads (as he refers to them), and less government involvement in people's lives. I tell him he agrees with the republican party, but votes with the democrats. He tells me I'm crazy. What can I say?
