I have never seen such a weird weather year. This spring it wouldn't stop raining, now we need rain badly. Not as hot as last year, although we have had 100+ days awhile back. A month or so ago it felt like fall, got down into the 40's one night I think. 95 or so today.
Maria came very close to losing her house In Moore OK. when the two tornadoes went through too. The first one missed her by 1 and 1/2 blocks. The second was real close to the first one. We went out there in July and it is amazing how badly torn up that area is. Some of the sights ya see just make ya look in amazement.
All in all we have been pretty lucky to not have anyone injured or killed.

We had similar weather here in MN, real wet spring, horribly dry summer. It hasn't rained by my place in 6 weeks. I haven't cut my grass in a month. I got my beans and tomatoes picked and then quit watering what was left in the garden. Dang deer ate the leaves off all my squash plants before they matured, so I got none this year.

I have a bad feelin about this winter. We have had so many mild winters I am thinkin this one will catch up to us here. Seeing several signs that lead a fella to think that way too.
Alot of critters are already getting real heavy coats and the wooly worms are black as coal and big, to mentiona few. Oh and most hornets nests are real close to the ground.

It still hasn't rained here. All the creeks are dried up; trapping is going to be tough for water trappers. I gave up watering my lawn, but water my trees every day. I have a couple beautiful birch trees and a gorgeous sugar maple that I don't want to lose.

Speaking of hornets, I've got a nest of yellow jackets under the foundation of one of my buildings. I've gone through 3 cans of wasp killer, tried some things on the internet, but nothing seems to kill them. You can't get the spray far enough back under there to affect them little devils. Short of burning the building down, I don't know what to do. Any ideas?

I am on a new gadget so hope this works. Lol. I use sevens to kill yellow jackets. Usually takes two doses but that seems to get them. I also wait till after dark to douse it down the hole.

I bought one of those wasp traps. There must have been a hundred in there in just two days. Don't see very many around anymore now.
I have some Sevin, but can't squirt it in there because they're under the foundation and the angle is wrong.

Don't need to get to far down the hole. Get it at the entrance they will get it on them and carry it to the nest.

It was wet all year at my house. The weeds went crazy in the garden and it was a never ending job trying to keep them out when we got a dry spell.
