had a talk with a someone this morning about the high numbers of new trappers and old trappers getting back into it. Seems there are lots of both. So how do ya'll handle it? On private land I won't compete with anyone. I figure the land owner has enough sense not to let to many on their land. If they do let more than enough, I will back off 9 times out of 10. federal land is different though. I will and always have, tried to talk to the others and get along with them, even help each other. But I will also set where ever I think I can catch a critter. Most State land is all a draw here so we have our own boundries drawn on a map. Which is fine and ussually works out fine. However some areas are by permnit without lines drawn. Those again I willl set where I need to, but try to talk to and get along with anyone else trapping the area. So how do ya'll handle this? ?

luckily i dont have to worry about that. the ranches where i trap are all private and we are the only ones allowed in they all high fencedand some ranchers wait several yrs in line to get us on our place if we see anyone on these ranches they are in big trouble.. i dont think there is any public trapping here not sure on that.. my only problem here is having to wait till adter the deer have been taken and culling done before i can go trap lol some ranches get us in by mid dec

There's room for everyone on public land. You have to trap smarter than them.
I personally wouldn't set on top of someone..even on public land....but to each his own.
