You ever try the duke#4's? Same trap for the most part as the bridger #3. I use both and have little preference for one over the other.

have never tried some # 2 dukes several years back. seemed to be a bit slower than the bridgers and victors we had but were used when we got em and could have just needed new springs. have never used montanas or northwoods but an old trapper friend here says they were real fine traps.
im just looking for a doz to trap a few local places here around home untill we start the big trapping.... we have over 200 bridger #3 but those belong to all 3 of us and they are also 300 miles away lol so im looking for some for just me that i can afford lol right around here close to trap from now till mid dec

They're not quite as heavy as the bridgers, but I have caught several yotes in them and never had any problem with them at all. I put some PIT pans on a dozen of the soft catch and they did an excellent job for me.
IMO, the old NW's was as good a trap as ever made. For all around use anyway. When them things got hold of a critter it stayed there. I used the #2's and 1.5's mostly but dang did I love them.
Never have been a victor fan, had some # 3's that I practically gave away just to get rid of them. Only #3 I ever seen a coon could bend up so bad ya couldn't reset it. I did like there older long springs though.

lord i havent used long springs since i was a kid catching possums on the creek behind the old place lol.. that was back when possums were 2 bucks each green lolyep had some nw they were good the only ones that compare now are bridgers. the early victor coil springs were ok before they lightened em up. i didnt like the round triggers even back then tho and the thin dogs.lol but you know im brolly raising the price on myself as soon as she reads this post lol. talking up those nws like this lol .

I am slowly replacing all my coils with Long springs. I don't know why I ever started using coils really. LS's are easier to set, easier to bed solid, and hold better. Only coils I may keep are the CDR's. I figured you used alot of LS's for those cats. Seems to be the trap of choice for a lot of cat trappers.
