My son Tommy came to the farm last night and he and I knocked out my new skinnin machine.
I went horizontal because of the low ceilings but made it high enough I don't have to bend over any to use it. I am sure it will save tons of time and more importantly alot of back aches.
Things are about ready. 4 more days and I'll be happy happy happy!!!!

Yanks the hide off most critters......LOL
YOu start a coon for instance jsut past his back legs. Pull the tail and clamp it in the machine. Press the switch and let her do all the work. Pull the front legs through and cut the ears eyes and nose and your done.
It saves alot of time and alot of sore backs.
I'll get some pics and try to post them.. meanwhile ya can look on youtube and see some vids of one in action.

the one I ahve made now is in the shop, but I will also have one that attches to the hitch on m y truck and uses a 12v winch.
Yep, yanks the hide right off yotes. Only critter I am, not sure it would pull would be an otter. It will pull a beav, but ya gotta help it along.
Mine now has 440 lbs of pull, ya would think that would skin anything.

I have a low ceiling (8') with a vertical skinning machine I made. It can do most coon, but an otter is another story. I would like to see photos of your horizontal machine if you'd care to post them sometime, Huck.

Naw, she won't set traps with me, and she is sick anyway. She will most likely go to the farm with me, depending on how she feels. When I am camping and trapping she will be there though. She will do the cookin..........I hope.
