well huck you convinced me im gonna make me a receiver hitch skinning machine... my only prob is the prices on darn 12v winches thay seem to be real proud of em lol any ideas on used winches or even where to look for lower priced ones??? ... the machine i got figured out and i got a good welder and all the material i need cept a winch lol

Harbor freight. If they are still on sale they are about 80 bucks. for the 440. Good winch with plenty of power.

That is the winch most folks use. My shop hoist is only 220 lbs. and it is more than strong enough.

440 is that the badlands brand and does it have a load break wouold hate to rip a cat because it didnt stop when i let up lol

I am not sure of the brand. But bad lands may be right. None that I have seen has a load break. They stop pullin when the cable breaks.....LOL You do have to watch some critters, they will pull in half. Usually it is the body though not the skin. On the thinner skinned critters ya have to take it slow and easy till ya get the hang of it. On fox I just bump it along and watch real close. Like anything else, after a while ya know what ya can and can't do with them.
