and a crap load of yotes.....LOL
The small drainage behind the field where I shot those yotes is lookin pretty dang good. Another fella has been trapping the same ditch but to the south west and he has also caught two otter there.
I am setting about a mile of it Sunday. And a bunch of yote traps in the fields all around.
Getting ice as I type though. With 3-5 inches of snow to come tonight and tomorrow morning. Most likely gonna make the coon den up again, but the yotes and otter should be fine.

I only averaged $115. for my otter last year at NAFA. I think the really dark ones are the ones they want and last year mine were all pretty light-colored. This year I've got two that are almost black.
I think the big money maker will be rats. In our area they are all but extinct. Last year I had around 60. This year I haven't got a single one. I usually get some in my mink sets. Not this year. Some of the trappers who drop fur off at my place said they haven't gotten hardly any rats this year either.

dont have rats or otter in south tx and very few beaver on the rivers... coons here are ok but yotes aint worth skinning but we have to catch yotes on these ranches we trap in order to keep trapping em lol our cats last year averaged about 170 at nafa some were up over 500 abd some down cheaper but they averaged about 170...we catch a few grey fox but not many so we basically just trap cats and snare the fences for yotes and if we catch some coons etc well thats ok too ... doesnt get as cold here s up there most nights are down around the freezing mark in winter give or take a little .. dont get me wrong we have an occasional real cold spell come thru but never lasts long ..

Do you have hogs down there? It seems like just about every tv show I watch on hunting hogs is in TX.
