Are you a nafa agent still? If so I have some questions.

I am a fur drop off point for NAFA where trappers bring their fur. I think an agent is the person who stops and picks up the fur at my place. But, I've been doing it for about 10 years and might be able to answer some of your questions, Huck.

Ok thanks.
I was told earlier today that nafa is going around picking up carcass and green skinned critters. When did they start that?
Is there any way of getting your fur back once shipped to them?

IMO...it is a direct attempt to hurt groenwald. And even more so to put alot of country buyers out of business. (the main number one reason I don't like them)
From what I understand they will recieve green and carcass animals put them up for you, then charge you a fee per animal. I don't know what the fee is but I bet it aint cheap.
Groenwald started about the same thing last year. If you have over a certain amount of fur, I think it is 350 animals, he will put them up first, then offer you a price on the put up fur.
Which would be ok if he offers a fair price. Right now it sounds to me like he is paying the best on coon and rats, which is the norm. Other items he isn't as competitive. Yotes he can be alright on though.
I would be more likely to trust him than I would a auction house. Just my opinion.

According to the pickup agent, they will pick up green fur, but not in the carcass, it has to be skun. You also have to make arrangements ahead of time if you want to do that. It sounds like he'd prefer not to do it.
I've never had anyone ask to have their fur sent back, so I can't answer that question.

i have been shipping to nafa for years and so far (knock on wood) i have been very pleased with the pay off and prices.. here a few years back we had a hot winter and we shipped over 100 flat cats with hardly any fur on em and was hoping to make 20 each on em (but really thought 20 each was wishful thinking ... and sold every one for over 100 dollars each because they were lotted with like type cats and there were enough to make em worth it what they told us but we have allways got top dollar for our cats there ..... i dont even think about selling em anywhere else ..at least not unless there is a major change anyway .

There are two or three cat auctions ya need to check into. From what I have heard they sell cats at the very highest prices.
