I don't know if any of y'all saw on the news about the chemical spill and water contamination in our state. As bad luck would have it, I live in Jackson county . School was out Friday because of the spill.no end in sight to the water restrictions..no drinking, washing, cooking or washing your laundry in the water.Boling doesn't help.

I heard this morning them saying the water was safe again, but would have a chemical smell. I think I'd still be buying bottled water for awhile until I saw how many folks drop over from the so called "safe water".

ya farted in the river didn't ya cat.....LMAO
I heard about that mess. Sat here and shook my head. Why on earth so many of these companies decide to build such places on a river bank amazes me. We have several right here on the Miss. river and it is not un-common for spills to happen. Luckily as far as I know none have been real serious.
When the river flooded real bad in 93 we had a huge pipe line break under the river bed. They said at first it was natural gas. When we got there with the fire trucks I said right away it was propane. They tried hard to deny it, but it was very easy to see the cloud floating right at the water. We shut down two major bridges and all river traffic till it finally dissipated. That thing sounded like a huge jet engine even after they shut it off. Took over 24 hrs. for the residual pressure to finaly stop blowing the gas.
