I know it's been a while since I was on here and from what I have seen it has been over a year since anyone else has posted. So has this site officially died or is it just in hibernation ?
I thought I would drop by and maybe kick some of the dust off of the old place . I bought a few new traps a year ago and just got them ready for use this fall. I first boiled them in water and baking soda then let them rust a bit , about 8 days then I gathered up some acorns about a 3 gal. bucket full and mixed it in with 5 gal. of water then boiled it for a full day. Next day I took most of the acorns out and put 2 dozen 120's in and boiled them for 4 hours , took them out to dry and put 1 dozen Bridger #2 offset 4 coil soft catch traps in and simmered them for an other 3 hours . The traps all came out a very deep gray color and look pretty decent now I'll have to wax the coil spring traps and some of my old long spring traps I use for beaver and muskrat. Like I said thought I would kick a bit of dust and put a post on whether anyone reads it or not is anyone's guess . I'll drop back in a round the 1st of Oct. to see if there has been any activity but not going to hold my breath .
Good Luck and God Bless Greg

Well here I am again in the hall of echoes and past hunters and trappers . Today is my 59th birthday , my brain tells me I'm 59 , my heart tells me I'm 20 , my body tells me i'm getting old just like my Kids and grand babies tell me, lol. Sunday yet an other friend passed on to the other side and he was only 56 , cancer doesn't care your age or your status in life it just comes and takes or leaves its scars . While at the funeral I was talking with some of my trapping friends and all of them are hanging the traps up for the season as it will cost them more to run a line than they will get in return . I will still put out a few traps and see what the wild furs do at auction . I don't plan on trapping the very first part of the season but will wait till the first part of Dec. when the furs are fully prime that way they should do better on the sale . Well until next time may you all be well and may you traps be filled , God bless you all. Greg

I know it is pointless to ask but what happened to the site? Where are the founding members and Moderators??? Did you all just get tired of the site and move on to Trapperman ? or to another site completely ?? Kind of seems ashame but I guess it was probably inevitable when there were only a handful of active members why just abandon it and not shut it down? Will I get a response or will it be like texting into cyber space

Too bad as it was kind of a fun site and there was some real good information on here about different sets that not only help those just starting out but some of it was good for us older hands as well.

Not much traffic on any trapping forum, with fur prices low. I'm glad to see the site still up and my login still works.... Trev
