Came home from work today to find 3 hens dead in the coupe. Two of the heads were pretty mangled and 1 just had blood on the back of its head and nothing eaten. I am assuming it is a racoon but I suppose maybe a mink could be the culprit. There was a hole about the size of a basketball in the door of the coupe. I closed it up tight tonight and planted a 1.5 coilspring in front of the door with a hint of shellfish oil. I give it 2 days max before I take him into custody.

I have exactly the same thing happening here. 10 - 1 it's a weasel. I'd think mink first off too, if there was any around here.
No coon left around here at the moment. Besides, a coon will usually rip the stomach open won't he? These guys only have thier heads chewed off, and I know for sure it isn't an owl. So -- weasel.

Black Panther!! What part of the world R U from. Here in Va we haven't had any weasels since I was a toddler, (45 yrs ago), that i know of. But a mink sounds like the culprit to me. [bite the head off, suck the blood].. Good luck, U should find out in a couple of days. Hope the pan tension is light.

I am in WV, I dont think there are any weasels around here. I have never seen or heard of anyone catching one. The hole was a little small for a coon but I think he could have sqeezed his way in. We shall see
