sunshine, there is lots of beaver in the high country,so its know wonder he did so well, I think a person like Jerry could clean house on beaver in that country. I never have been much for water trapping, done it for a couple ranchers just to get some problem beaver.
catman323, Im not sure how often he was checking, but Wyoming has a trap check law of 72 hours on traps, and no time frame on snares.

he and his nephew eahc had a line..they checked EVERYDAY desoite the three day law because he had a very limited time to trap..if he didnt check everyday, he might have had a beaver in a trap and wouldnt have caught that next beaver cause his trap was full...they ran trpas 16 days,,thats his catch from one line..one day. they ran 260 traps tween them..
took jerry 13 hrs to check cause how far his were set 150 miles, one way

Yea I think thats right, I have never been much of a water trapper so I have never used body grip traps, so I'm not for sure. But snares are not consindered body grip, and there is no time frame on them. I still like to check them at least every 7 days.
