Hey TD....nice lookin sets. One question ......in the second pic...looks like a culvert....are they using that as a den? Or just a passage way? Your set will work either way, I am just curious.

Don't overlook the plastic 6" drain tile that enters the stream submersed, rats use theseas well as passing mink

Has the water dropped cause usally muskrats build their dens the banks but underwater.theyll build house like mini beaver houses in marshy swampy areas.

ya but these are high enough up the bank that the water would nver get to them unless it flooded. what other critters live on banks. it looked like there was scales in some of the scat near one of the dens. could it be mink or otter

Jerry says mink..could be an otter but more than likely a mink. just so you know, Jerry has trapped 30 yrs and has a significant catch every year.

if its mink, then this place is crawling with them cause there are dens every where. there are plenty of fish in the creek to suport otter, coons and mink both. ive have seen muskrats there before. and two or three of the dens are pretty big

these could be coon dens, otter dens, or even groundhog dens.

there not ground hog dens cause the dirt is fresh and they are hibernating here and these dens seem a bit small for coon. im not sure how big an otter is

i just saw a groundhog on Thanksgiving day eating grass, Jerry commented it was awful late in the year for em to be out, but he was out chomping away, defintiely not hibernating.
