take a cender block and place on in side of wall touching it..take a trap and set it on top of the block..take a small cut of sod and place on pan (note ajust pan tension a little tighter to hold the sod).. the sod will be above the water level...this set will catch both mink and rats fast...i would set four traps at a location .two on each end of both walls .

I have used this set a few times and it works great.

good post Bill, I use a variation of this sometimes, about a foot from where the water and land meet I will set the trap and place a piece of sod on it....mink and coons love looking for that last piece of dry ground.

coon and mink will readily go to water; but, they like to stay on the last piece of dry ground they csn1
