Here's what I do for a living. I chase elk around. Who could ask for a better job? Bunch of elk in a field. you don't walk into a group of elk like this without something for them to eat. These are semi-habituated elk and get kinda freaky around humans. They associate them with food. Atleast some of the older ones do, and will walk right up to you and put their nose in your pocket, or truck window. It is really wild to be surrounded by 100+ elk that would love nothing better than to root around in your pockets. Here's a small group of elk crossing a stream. They were pretty freaked out by my presense, and ran across the stream. They weren't happy with having to go in that cold water and vocalized their displeasure once they got out on the other side. Here's an odd looking spike. Not sure what's going on with his antlers. He was extremely curious. Elk butts. Need I say more? Actually I liked the frosted look to them. They weren't happy that I bumped them from their beds so early in the morning. You've heard of Frosted Flakes. Here in PA we got frosted calves. This one tried to give me a kiss a few weeks ago. Elk have extremely bad breath. Little raghorn that is living in one of the little towns. He's not a friendly elk.
