Some random pictures from today. A Couple of Turkey vultures sitting on a fence. A Young Bull elk along 555 #36 Getting some religion at the church in Benezette Another bull getting some religion I think this was the after services sit-down. This bull is old and had really short stubby antlers last year. Calf elk trying to hide Here she is sporting a new necklace and earring. Estimates of less than a day old. Possibly only hours old at the time of the pictures.

Those are beautiful pics for sure, thanks. Was wondering elcaholic, if you keep up on the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and if these elk you work with was from one of thier projects???

HWD, Sorry it took me so long to get back to this. I guess I should pay more attention to this section.
These elk are not from any RMEF project. They were re-introduced to PA back in 1913 from South Dakota, Yellowstone, and a private preserve right here in PA. They were put in 10 different counties around the state. Ironically the only county that they really took hold was in Elk county....
Since it's inception the RMEF has played a LARGE part in acquiring land for the elk. Between them, the PAGC, PA DCNR, the Western PA Conservancy, and all the local sportsmans groups, the elk have a ton of public land to roam on.
The RMEF is building a large visitor/educational center in the heart of the PA elk range. Some say it is going to rival any they've built elsewhere.
