Yes, it is beautiful down there, and anywhere cattle roam IMO. Just the fact that cattle are running on a range, no matter where it is, makes the whole scene complete in my eyes. Thanks for posting these pics.

Wheelers, stick a blow torch to an old piece of deer hide, and there you go, oh ya, and let out a loud bawl for effect, LOL!

Earl, you prefer using irons on the horns, or gougers? Either way, messing with those horns isn't the fun part of branding for sure. I like the smell of burnt hair on branding day, only cause it means it's branding time and the calves will have thier new designs to see

well, when I was on the farm we tried not to have many horns, but we did have a few. Using angus bulls cut out the most of it, of course we have a few other kindsof bulls too. When they were small we used and electric iron that encircled them, if they got too big we used the dehorners and pulled the vessels out. I would rather cut 5 than dehorn one...lol......We didn't have to cut many either the 400 that i checked on every day, i banded at birth. Every once in a while there would be one that hadn't dropped and we would have to get him later, or the momma would have been mean enough that it made sense to let him go....lol having em up in the truck with a ain't no fun.
