First off, here is the grambrel I use. You can see that it is just a bar with #90 tarred twine on it. The tarred twine bites in and hold better than anything I have found. I just loop it back on itself over the foot.
Here is my anchor system with hand wench attached to cable. I have the power wench up top on the pole. I can pull from both ends. I will use the hand wench when I want to feel the amount of psi I am putting on a hide. I used it the other night to pull a buddies, daughters deer hide off that was going to be mounted. The anchor is a power company down guy set 8' in the ground and cemented over. The pulley is chained to the anchor and the cable is attached to the grips.
This is my fleshing beam now. I poured the slab around it for clean up and also to hold the beam/pole in place. I had moved the pole back 6" fleshing on it all season. You can see how I cut a 55gal drum to fit as a fat catcher. It works great. I just put a 3 gal cat litter bucket under the fat catcher and when I am done, all I have to do is push it in the bucket.
They tore down our old Wal-Mart after building the new Super Center. They left a lot of stuff in the old store. I meet and asked the gentelman doing the removal if I could have the stuff. He told me to load it up. Every thing still there at 9am the next morning was going in the dump. I got the wall baskest out of the old fabrics department. I put them in the other night to make room. I had all this fur hanging on rings. Took up to much room.
You can see I still have some fur hanging on rigs. You can see the fan. I have 3 fans blowing 24/7. The little brown box at teh bottom of the pis is my heater. I have to keep it on low now or it will get the building up to 90*. I try to keep it at 65-70*
I just put this dryer in tonight. I will now be drying my fur before I put it on boards to make sure I don't get any taint from wet fur. That is a big problem here in Louisiana.
Another Wal-Mart give me. This was a windshield wiper display. I put all my boards in it to get them out of the way when no in use. It works greats.
This was the roll around receiving desk in the back of Wal-Mart. Now it is the roll around storage tray for my put ups. It hold everything I need to put my fur on boards.
Here is the system I use to hang my fur. I have 55 hooks to hang fur on. I hang them by there nose. You know I want to stretch that extra little bit out to make them longer. Hang um by their nose and get it. LOL. You can see how I mounted the 2x4 and put the hooks on. It works great.
This is just another view of the other end.
Not half bad for a dumb red neck ha. I am proud of my little shed. It dose what I need and it keeps the wife at bay. She will not come inside due to the smell. So when she gets mad at me, I just go to the fur shed for some peace and quite. I keep the radio going all the time. I had someone ask the other day if I was going to turn it off, I told them no, I wanted my fur to have something to listen to.
