I figured I'll be the first to bring up this trap here. I think there a good mink trap as long as the springs are strong I add two swivels to the chain one in the middle and one at the end for a drowner/stake swivel. File a nite latch in the pan and there ready to go. I have added baseplates and round offset jaws on a couple but the problem is that if you use victor parts you also need new levers because the old ones have too narrow opening for the new jaws. so by the time you go that route you have too much money and time into them. I prefer to just use them on the water line just make sure you have enuff water to drown your catch.

you can weld chew guards on them to prevent the coons to reach their feet.
me personally i wouldn't own them. i would sell them on e-bay why people buy them is beyond me but they will. you can probably get enough for them to buy the 1.5 dukes or bridgers trap for trap.

IMO the only good trap they still make is the 1.75.......they are still good traps. other than those all vics are junk in my book.

If we use them and we do still have a few, they are only used on a drowner cable. If not a coon will chew his foot in a heartbeat!! If fox trapping and are relatively sure of nothing but reds, they'll do fine!! ;D
