Vince Lombardi is certainly one of the most talked about, but was he the best?

i think we are seeing one now named Bill Billicheck. he doesn't have the best players on the field most of the time he out coaches the other team and has his player playing harder than the other teams. sure he has Tom Brady but he doesn't have that roster full of hall of famers or some kind of new offense or defense he is simply 99% of the time the better coach when he steps on the field.
yes i like Vince Lombadri he was the same way Bill is now with getting all he could out of his players.

Well if you are gonna mention, Bud Grant, then u certainly have to put Don Landry ahead of him. And what about Hank Stram. and Weeb Ewbank? I still gotta go with Don Schula, he won with Baltimore and Miami.

Don't kid yourself - New England is VERY loaded with players. Belicheck wasn't so smart in Cleveland - where his team really was shooting blanks. I'm a Steelers fan, but can't put Noll as the all time best. My grandfather never could understand why Casey Stengel was thought to be so great. He used to tell me he could have won with that Yankees team. I think Noll may be in the same situation. To me, it's gotta be someone who changed the game - I don't know if Bill Walsh invented the West Coast O, but he certainly perfected it and popularized it. But of course, his teams were loaded too. I think any coach who won multiple championships probably had boatloads of talent. Sure makes for a great discussion.
