Well lets see what I can do. Here's my beaver set on slides for live dry beavers... Results... For this set I prefer a 3/32 cable snare 4' long with a cam-lock and loaded. I use a 24" long 1/2 rebar stake with two feet of #9 wire "pigtailed" and welded to the top of the stake to anchor and support the snare. A good metal wammy really helps to keep the snare tipped at the correct angle. Here's a 3/32 snare with a wammy as an example of how it holds the snare in the correct position even on the steepest trails... Any smaller cable is too droopy for this application that's why I settled on 3/32 also it is very fur friendly as well. ~ADC~

Here's my kill-pole set up for raccoon snaring... I use 4' of 1/2" rebar for the pole, I weld a 1/2" nut just down from the top and a short length of 9ga. wire for the support. I also weld a short cross piece of 3/8 rod to aid in the entanglement. The snares I use are custom made for me by ProSnares, they are 36" of 5/64 cable loaded fast with BMI mini locks, in-line swivel to aid in how the loop hangs as well as a good 5/64+9ga wammy. I use three colors of camo paint to ensure they blend in well in the grasses where I use them. You can see from the picture how the snare simply slides onto the top of the pole as an attachment.... You simply form a 7" loop and push the wammy onto the #9 wire to hold the snare in place VERY solid. Next just push the pole in the ground next to the coon trail so the loop hangs 7-8" off the surface of the trail to the bottom of the loop and centered on the trail. results... Here is another look or two at the pole as well... Hope that's all clear. ~ADC~

Well here is one snare set up I use in areas that I dont want to walk to more then once a week, it stays working in some of the worst weather too. Are start with two pieces of woven wire fence and make kind of a tunnelout of it like this. And then I will hang a chunk of rabbit in it from the top, just so it will hang down and the cats can see it as the are checking it out, I didn't have it today when I went and built this for the pictures I just used a glove to show what I was talking about. This is what it would look like. After I have the rabbit I will put in some good gland lure inside also, and after I have all the bait and lure inside I will cover it with pine or cedar bows, I have even used sage brush to cove them too when I was in big sage brush, heres what it looks like covered. Always make sure and cove the top real good, I have had some cats try to get at the rabbit from the top of it, so I make sure and cover the top where the rabbit is well. Here is some pictures of it from up and down the wash, as you can see it has its own eye appeal, and then I will add some flags on the trees close to it just for more eye appeal. Here is the way I will hang the snares, I put one on each end at the very beginning coming into the cubby. I put in a stake right beside the cubby to tie the snares off to this is what I ues, I have also use trees to tie the snares off to also. Here is what the finished set look likes when Im done, I believe you could do the same thing with traps at both ends too, I have never tried yet but have always wondered if it would work. I have taken several cats in these little cubbys over the years. I hope this explains every thing if you have any qestions please feel free to ask.

Here is a pic of a beaver snare on an old dam....the beaver is using this as a castor mound, sentry post, type deal! the lure is on a finger sized stick, laying in the middle of the mud. It was piled a little higher but i spread it out, just to pi ss him off!
