Muhammes Ali was a great person/boxer/ sports icon.
I thought about this today, while mowing the grass. After learnin that one of our own, Spade was injured Iraq, it occured to me who the real icons in our country are! All of the brave men and women who have volunteered to defend our freedom are the ones that us as Americans should be looking up to. When Cassius Clay was drafted, he chose to flee to Canada so that he wouldn't have to serve our country. He changed his name to hide under the guise of religous beliefs. And now for some reason, the vast majority of American people think he was a great man..........Bullscat.......Its people like Spade who are great men........not some chickensh it athletes who wouldn't serve our country!

I idolize no one, but if I did, it wouldn't be some sport star or celebrity, it would be the folks that put thier lives on the line and have to abondon thier families on a moments notice, to risk it all and maybe never see their families again. That's who I would idolize if I were to. What does a celeb do for the greater good of our people, besides donate some of thier pocket change and read a book to some school kids, trying to get more air-time and better character/salaries? I have seen some celebs in public in Western MT, and all I said was "hi" as if they were just anybody else, beause they are just anybody else when it comes down to it! When I see a know soldier, they may get more that just a hi from me, as they are higher on the pedestal than many of us for what they do. Joel

Earl once again you have put it out there just as i see it. My ideal was george s patton greates tank commander that has ever lived. All my life has been about the freedoms we have been given by the brave men and women of these United States. And when one of them is injuried or dies for the cause of freedom it hurts. The people dont understand that freedom is a right that has to be fought for. And the people that do this are truly brave and my hero's. They deserve what ever i can give be it a warm smile or a pat on the back. My heart goes out to each and every one that where's the uniform. And lets not forget there children and wives for there sacrifices. This war will leave alot of children needing father figures. So step up and be counted trappers help a fallen soldiers children give a piece of yourselves. They gave you there life.
