On 3/15/08 listed on that said page is an blurb about the VTA fur sale. Interesting thing about that blurb is the 3% commission. My question to the VTA board. WHY has the membership NOT been informed of the auction style format and now this, the 3% commission. Trying to get everyone to show up in Fisherville and then drop the news. Before I get bashed by one on here, if I had known the VTA was seeking help on this subject I would have thrown my hat in.

It wouldn't have done any good to throw your hat in...My hat was already in the arena...but, they didn't ask for any input. I sure hope the direction that we are headed changes quick. I am not going to pay anyone 150 to sell my fur...end of story

I think $10.00 is enought but I not running things. The ones that are running things will not sell there fur at the fur sell. If they do what they did last year. They don't was to give all there money away.

Let a small seller who is a member sell his stuff for dues and 10 dollars to sell, but now we have dues, plus 3% which could be a huge amount of money. I'm thinking sell to the buyer who will be there anyway, subtract the 3%, plus gas miles, win win for me. Just pist the VTA hasn't mentioned a thing about these changes to the fur sale.

This is one of the reason I wrote " What's Going On In The V.T.A. " it's a mess.

I've been taking my fur to Pa. for years at there auctions. MY fur brings about 30 to 40% higher than the Va. sale. I sold coon last year 3 different times for a $12.50 avg. I take some to the Va. sale and get $9.00 you do the math There are a lot of buyers that won't come to our sale because of the format we use, so we are stuck with the same 2 or 3 buyers and the price they give us. You will make more money and we will have more buyers there. I thought everyone wanted the most for there fur. Plus the 3% will help us raise money for the VTA. remember 15 or 20 grand in the bank is a drop in the bucket if we get challenged on a trapping issue. It would be nice not to have to go to other states to beg for money

It takes a lot of ten dollar bills to pay for the cost of having a fur sale. I'd rather pay a reasonable commission to sell my fur than have to sell raffle tickets to support my Trapping Association.

That will be great to have more buyer at our sell. Hopefully that will help get our members a little more for there fur.
