Do you see the high prices of the last few year continuing or do you think the prices will fall in the near future?
Also do you think its possible for the overall western Bobcat population to suffer if the demand for their fur continues at the current rate?
I think that fashion will find another fad and the cats will decrease in value.

The only thing predictable about the fur market is how un-predictable it is. Look at grey fox. A few years ago, we were practically giving greys away around here. I think it was 84 or 85, I sold greys for $6.00, and reds were fetching 3/4 times as much, or better that year.

I think theres too much country with limited access during trapping months to hurt the cat pop too badly--especially with winters like this year. Easy access areas mght put a strain on population but I think theres plenty of cats - you just hafta put some foot work in.
