Good prices considering the Coon have steel drags on their tails to keep them from rolling downhill

Scansy, we were refering to the mountains being so steep......the drags would slow em down when coming down the hill, and the legs shorter on one side, being so they could walk level.......u need me to draw you a diagram?

i have been told by someone who was there, not sure though, maybe ohbuyer could tell us, but that the coon were graded real hard. that alot of those that were "junk" wouldnt have been at NAFA

a lot of times a few good coon bring a real high price and everything else is down graded; it only takes one buyer doing that to set the scheme of things. keep in mind these guys want to buy as cheap as possiable just like you or i at a public sale. as far as coons haveing legs shorter on one side or the other thats only if they are running a side hill, the coon around here are built to always run up hill, i'm shure if you look at your coon there you will see they are shorter in the front than in the back that way when they are running on a ridge they are always running down hill and dont get tired so fast.

asily explained by loking at the cattle and sheep..they aree all built to graze around the hill...when they get to the top, it's time to sell em ;D

well, i was told that NAFA specs allowed for like 3 small holes? and if they had one there they were tossed in the junk pile. Dayton made out alright i guess with his 14.00 average.

Sometimes I'm a little slow earl....... We go mountains like that in PA - but I live in more of a rolling farmland kind of area.

Nope - nothing like WV. But I do get up into the mountains half a dozen times a year - we have a camp up there. Frshwtr - I'm in Downingtown (just don't tell sunny that ) Right smack in the middle of Chester County. I have friends who live out your way - in Lebanon County.

Trapping here is tough - land ain't easy to come by. I'm right on the fringes of suburbia. On the other hand, I don't think there's too much compettition right around me here.
