for the llife of me i cant seem to cook it correctly. any tips or pointers.. i flour it then fry it in a lil oil till brown . about 6 min or so.. still it comes out tough.
wonder if useing water instead of oil would help more.seems thats what my granma used.. but its been so long i cant remember lol. other then it would melt in your mouth.

i had deer cubed steak last night.....it was so tender I couldn't hardly cut it...pulled apart. I floured mine and cooked in oil. I ran it through the cuber 2x, once each way. When I cut the steaks up, I did cutthem with the grain and tried to get all the silver membrane out. i fryed on med low heat.

Usually, most stores nowadays use lesser cuts of meat for their cube steak. That's why they run it thru the cuber first-if they didn't, it'd be tougher than ozark flint. Try marinating it in something with citric acid in it, like o.j., lemon juice, or something like that first. Oh, yeah, cook it slower, too.

I marinate them in seasoned milk . I use bread crumbs & flour with beaten eggs. I fry em up in oil to golden brown and they are tender.
The milk is later added to make Country Gravy with the drippings.

well thought i would update this post on my trials and tribulations of the infamous cube steak.
I've succeded on making it right for the first time in my life two days ago.
the secret for me was to change from regular flour to self rising flour. and to add meat tenderizer. came out nice tender and useing the extra flour i made a great gravy with the drippins. I'll be making more of it thru the coming yrs.
also the self rising flour makes for a perfect fried chicken too.
;D
for the folks that knowed how to cook it perfect may not seem like much but to me lol its a breakthru lol
would post pics but i dun ate all the evidence
