Are ticks attracted to bright colors? my son and i went fishin and i had tick virtuually attack me while they basically left him alone. I had on a peach colored shirt and he had on black. last year the same thing happened. i had on yellow and he had on dark blue. do you think there might be something to then seeing bright colors or do you think im just sweeter than he is?

Ticks are attracted to your body heat and carbon dioxide..so it makes sense your probally giving out more heat and more carbon dioxide.

yep, has nothing to do with color, their eye sight is poor. Were you wearing any perfume or had you used scented soap that he hadn't?

I've taken to treating a separate set of clothes with Permethrin. Clothes only! It lasts a long while.
In normal years, we haven't had much of a tick problem. Last year I found six on me after a half hour walk. Can't stand the little bustards.

Plus 1 on Permethrin. That stuff WORKS! Just don't put it directly on your skin. Spray it on your clothes and let it dry first.
