When I was a kid, we used to make doughballs for carp - don't remember how now, but it had jello, corn meal and some other stuff. Worked good. And if you got hungry when fishing you could just eat your bait!

bring a cup of water to a boil put in jello (your choice of flavor) stir in till disolved then add a mix of 1 cup corn meal with 1/2 cup flour, mix the flour cornmeal mix in cold water (just like the mush reciepe on the cornmeal pack). keep cool until putting on hook. take a styack of shreeded wheat crumble in pack until there arent any big pieces, add root beer enough to cover shreeded wheat and let soak. tke mix and sueeze it between your hands and keep kneading until tough. both these make good dough for carp. by the way my three favorite flavors for the jello bait are strawberry, peach, apricote.
