Step 2 in my trap prep process is dying, I use powder logwood dye in the same pot that I clean my traps in. It holds about 3 gallons and I use an entire bag of logwood dye in it. The mixture is a bit thick but I've found that it works pretty good.
Step 1: Raise temperature of dying pot to just below boiling. This will be more of a simmer.
Step 2: Place a bundle of traps into pot for approx. 1 hour and allow to simmer.
Step 3: Remove traps after one hour and hang to dry.
Sorry I don't have pictures of this step but it's pretty self explanatory.
