Coyote, fox, coon, & beaver. 90% of my land sets, & 75% of my beaver sets are snares. Love 'em.

I use alot of snares for beaver. I also catch a few coon each year with them. Water sets only here with snares and half the loop..............15"............under water.l I would love to learn how to use them for m-rats. Seems to me they would be the best trap for them.

"shaggy, is it hard to snare a mink?"
I haven't tried it yet. Seen Eric Space give a demo at the OSTA conv. and liked what I saw, he made it look fairly easy , but all the good ones do. So this is the year I'll try.

Nope...tried a few times........we can't use a small enough cable here to get er done. From what I ahve been told it takes 1/16 or smaller cable to be fast enough to catch the things. I have had them go through and close the loop...but apparently not fast enough. To be honest...Newt is the only one I know of that can catch them regulary with snares. I am sure there are a few more that can......but I aint met them.
