Any one else noticing an increase in their red fox population? I've seen more reds this spring than I have in a long time, and I'm seeing them traveling in areas that I haven't seen them in for quite a few years. Not a HUGE increase, but a pleasantly pleasing increase in numbers. Who knows, we just might have a trappable population this fall, Lord willing.

Been seeing the pups from two separate dens every night this week on my way to work like clockwork. Same place, same time every night. Never seen pups there before. Only problem is, they're on posted ground. But, the pups should disperse this fall. Hope they make it, and mate up and have litters Been seeing a good bit of cat sign, too. Had one area that has always produced a cat or two, that I didn't get to trap last year, and neither did anybody else. Lots of sign this spring, should be a good area this fall.

my neighbor told me he saw 4 bobcatkittens the other day when he was on tyhe way to the hay field.
Good news is we trap the place every year so maybe we'll connect with one come fall.
we saw some tracks last fall in the general area but didnt set for them then.

Hey sunny - this is your year to get a fox. Of course, you probably need to make some fox sets - ain't gonna catch them in a pocket set with a bluegill for bait.

In my area, we are over run with coyotes. Some of my friends that run hounds say they hardly ever see any fox anymore, just coyotes.

Seems like in this county, the yote population is down some from last year. Not seeing as much sign, or hearing them as often as the last couple of years. Still a few around, though.

Bet he was out Rt 89 towards Limestone, Grandview and that area. They have a pocket of the darn things out in there that's unbelievable. Lots of country to trap too. Just too far for me to drive every morning, and run the stuff around home, too. Especially when I'm on dayshift, and have to be at work by 7:45.
Had a woman I work with from out in there wanted the coyotes off of her farm, but didn't want me to catch any of her free running dogs or cats. 4 dogs, 7 cats, and she wouldn't tie them up or keep the cats in the house. Said it was cruel to the dogs and cats to restrict their movements like that. Yeah, right............ Last I heard from her, the coyotes were restricting the movements of her free roaming dogs and cats pretty good.

Be a lot nicer if it wasn't for them 2 pesky jobs a feller has to work to make ends meet. Have a lot more time to trap. Oh, well. When I retire or win the lottery...........................................................

red fox here have moved into town. I have had 14 calls for fox this year in town. Not all small towns either, highly populated areas. Only place around here for them to get away from the yotes. Luckily they can be relocated here, which they all were. Except one area where mange was killing them off as fast as I could trap them. I did those a favor and put them down humanely. Ya ever found a den full of mangy fox? Talk about stink.......whew!!!!!!!!!
I have had the pleasure of removing many yotes this summner also. Shot 11 off one farm with exotic birds east of me.

tc, i saw one smashed on my way to jerrys mom monday, a red.
its in the same place where we picked one up ;ast year and skinned.
theres a bunch of them seems like from paden city through st marys, least from the amount of roadkills weve seen over the last couple years through that area.

Theres a big population around Paden City and Sistersville. I've seen two new litters within a 100 yards of the traffic islands there at Sistersville, and a momma with a litter out Paden Fork, between Paden City and Rt 180. Seen a bobcat in the cemetary in the south end of Sistersville the other day. They're gettin downright domesticated in there.

Saw 2 reds road-killed where they built the new drywall plant up next to the power plant this weekend. You know the place I'm talking about, Cat? Next to Mitchell Power Plant?
