This hot weather got me to thinking about things we did when I was a kid and it got this hot.
Remember those old fashioned juicer thingamajobs? There was a glass pineapple looking thing with grooves down the side, you cut an orange in half and twisted it on to squeeze the juice out. Grandma would do that, then scoop the pulp out and freeze the half of a peel, then freeze the juice. After it was frozen she would put it in a blender then serve it in the frozen peel for desert. I think she put sugar in it, too. It was better than ice cream! I haven't had one for years. I wonder where I could find one of those juicer things?

A friend of mine owns a bar and has an extra one he is going to bring me. His is made out of stainless steel instead of glass, but I think that's the only difference. I haven't seen it yet.
