I believe it is 60+ days after the MALE beaver tells the female beaver to shut up..........lay down........and has his way with her....which is as it should be.
May to July here...second go round if needed.......... August till Sept.

It's rather interesting, actually. Beaver breed in spring here, usually March or April, depending on when it arrives.
The female becomes pregnant, but experiences a delayed pregnancy, a strange phenomenon. There is a medical term for it, but it escapes me for now. Though her egg has been fertilized, it remains dormant. Then, in winter, while locked in under the ice, she gives birth.
In spring, when the ice is gone, the previous year's younguns are usually sent packing to make room for the new arrivals. In some colonies they are allowed to remain.

In MN, we have a late breeding season because it usually takes place after ice out. Gestation period is usually 107-110 days. I was wrong, she usually gives birth in summer, not winter. That makes more sense. I thought I'd read it somewhere. Dang dementia kickin in again! I've caught nuisance beaver in spring that were no larger than a big muskrat. They had to have been born in very late summer.

I meant fall, not spring. They aren't more than a couple of pounds when they're born. They're born with fur and are swimming after just one day.

it seems to depend a good bit on weather in the early breeding season of January ............. if it is good and cold early like this year was ............ they seem to den up early and get things going while the yearlings are out getting trapped ..............
in warmer Januarys it seems they hold off breeding til February ...........
the gestation period is 107 days ........... so that puts birthing dates in mid April to early June round these parts ..........
the fury little buggers are ready to swim within 24 hours usually

Here in upper lower Michigan it can start early may to June depends on conception and age of beaver being bread .

conception is the key , of course. so i guess the real question is when do beaver breed in your area.
