His second time out and his first deer. 162 pound field dressed doe. He shot her from a ground blind at 100 yards. 50 Cal. Muzzleloader, 100 grians of powder for those of you interested. He was happy, But I think dad was happier. Probably the best hunt I have ever been on. And by the way The deer wouldnt leave the field so I shot a six point buck and a doe myself. If they are going to let me reload a muzzleloader and not leave Im going to fill tags.

Congrats to your son. As for reloading the muzzleloader, I have to agree. My theory is "If it's brown, it's down". At least until you run out of tags.

I put 50 pounds of burger in the freezer every year. We cut a couple dozen steaks the rest is all made into sticks and summer sausage. One hind quarter makes me about 60 pieces of jerkey. I normally process three deer for myself a season. And I have an older guy that I cut one up for.
